Summer Checklist

Summer is our favorite season of the year but seems to slip by so quickly. Each year we put together a Summer Checklist (just like the ones for each of our design project, albeit with a lot less detail and a little more fun) so we don't miss a moment.

  1. Cocktails on a roof deck. Might we recommend The Pendry?
  2. Visit a vineyard and enjoy a lazy afternoon. We've been longtime fans of Scribe, but are itching to check out some of what Valle de Guadalupe has to offer now that we've got our Sentri set up.
  3. Spend a morning farmer's marketing. Yes, this is a year round activity in southern California, but it's even sweeter in the summer with loads of fresh berries.
  4. Wind down over the weekend by paddleboarding the bay.
  5. Host a luxe picnic dinner and go all out on the details. There's nothing more fun than inviting people to a picnic (where expectations are generally low) and treating your friends to a memorable experience.
  6. Take advantage of the longer daylight hours with leisurely evening meals, preferably alfresco.
  7. Enjoy live jazz at Panama 66 in Balboa Park—they play every Wednesday night.
  8. Go out for an early morning hike and treat yourself to a delicious and well-deserved breakfast.
  9. Freshen up your outdoor space—it's amazing what a difference simple (and inexpensive) fixes like string lights, new throw cushions or a strategically placed planter can make.
  10. R E L A X. Take time to simply savor.
